How did you first get interested in trance?
Dio: My qualifications are very personal: over 35 years of meditation, and an even longer time as a systems analyst. I realized that I must be addicted to meditation since I like it so much. I was curious what the connection between addiction and meditation might be, and I realized it was trance. I decided to write a book about my realizations and to invite research into the theories I put forward in it. The theory is empirical, but not my fantasy. I've spent hundreds of hours testing it.
The Trance Institute was set up as a clearing house for information about trance as I have defined it. And it is a wide definition which includes meditation, hypnosis, addictions, charisma, music, dance, culture, politics, magic, witchcraft, and probably drugs, although as I am fond of saying: "more research is necessary!"
